Privacy
This policy is issued by Malcolm Hedley Cohan (ABN 40 327 342 135), trading as Vision Movie, 189 Federal Drive, Federal NSW 2480, Australia. Questions about your data: support@visionmovie.app.
What we hold
The photographs you upload, the answers you write, the scenes you direct, the music you choose, and the movies we build for you. Your email address, so we can tell you when a render is finished.
Where it is held
In a private Supabase project (Postgres and Storage) and served through Cloudflare. Generation runs on Meta Muse, ByteDance Seedance (the scene previews), Kling and ElevenLabs through fal.ai, which receive the images and prompts needed to make your scenes and nothing else.
Who else handles your data
We use these services to run the site. Each receives only what it needs for its job.
- Stripe takes your payment. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach us; we keep a record of what you bought and the email address you paid with.
- Anthropic (Claude) turns your written answers into captions and scene ideas, and, when you use Refine with Claude on the avatar page, is shown your uploaded photographs and the pictures you have picked so it can describe the change you ask for.
- Epidemic Sound receives the words you type into the music search.
- YouTube (Google) receives your search words when you use Find on YouTube, and plays previews in its privacy-enhanced player.
- Google signs you in if you choose Continue with Google.
- Resend delivers our emails to you: sign-in links, "your movie is ready", receipts for coaching, a friend's voucher, and the newsletter if you asked for it.
Email from us
We email you about your own movie and purchases. We send the newsletter only if you ticked the box, and every issue has an unsubscribe link that works with one click.
What we never do
We do not sell your data, we do not use your face or your writing to train models, and we do not show your movie publicly unless you tick the gallery box yourself.
Help finishing your movie. Once a movie is paid for, our own team (never a third party) may open it to help finish it. We keep a record each time we do, and a copy of your own version from before we first changed it, so it can be put back on request.
While you are still building
Before you sign in, your work in progress is kept in your own browser's local storage on that device only. It never leaves the device until you create an account. Once you sign in, your browser also keeps your sign-in session in local storage. We set no advertising or tracking cookies.
Deletion
We keep your Vision Movie files on our server until you delete them yourself. That way you can come back to your movie at any time. You can delete your account, with every photograph, movie and draft in it, from your account page, or ask us to do it for you.
Why we are allowed to use your data
- To do what you paid for. Your photographs, answers, scenes, music and email address are used to make your movie, take your payment and tell you when it is ready.
- Because you said yes. The photographs of your face are used only because you ticked the box on the first page of the app. The newsletter and the gallery are used only if you tick their boxes. You can change your mind at any time: write to us and we stop, and delete what you ask us to.
- To keep the service safe. We keep a record of who directed each movie, and we check for misuse, so that the Content Rules in our Terms can be enforced.
- Because the law requires it. We keep records of payments for as long as tax law requires.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- show you the data we hold about you, and give you a copy you can take elsewhere;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete your account, your photographs and your movies;
- stop using your data for a purpose you object to, or stop while a question is sorted out.
Write to support@visionmovie.app from the email address on your account. We answer within 30 days and we never charge for it.
If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the privacy regulator where you live: the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner in Australia, the Information Commissioner's Office in the United Kingdom, or your national data protection authority in the European Union.
California. You have the right to know, correct and delete the personal information we hold. We do not sell it and we do not share it for advertising, and we will never treat you differently for using these rights.
Data that leaves your country
We are in Australia, and most of the companies listed above are in the United States. Your data is therefore stored and processed outside your own country. Each of those companies is bound by its own data-protection terms, and each receives only what it needs for its job.
How long we keep it
- Your photographs, movies and drafts stay in your account until you delete it.
- The record of who directed a movie (the account, the answers, the prompts and the approvals) may be kept after the pictures and video are deleted, for as long as we reasonably need it to show who made what.
- Payment records are kept for as long as tax law requires.
Keeping it safe
Everything travels over an encrypted connection. Your photographs and movies are held in private storage that only your own account can open. Card details are handled by Stripe and never reach us.
Children
The service is for adults. You must be 18 or older, and no photograph of anyone under 18 may be uploaded. If we learn that an account or a photograph belongs to a child, we delete it.
